Ardis Pearl (Stage) Smiley was born January 9, 1931, in Faith, SD, to Albert and Clyde (Timmons) Stage of Red Owl.
On Friday, December 22, 2017, Ardis went to be with the Lord and many of her loved ones who have passed on before her.
He loved going to breakfast and happy hour with the locals. People who knew Darwyn said they wanted to come back as his dogs! He even heated the garage, not for the vehicles, but for the dogs and had a mattress in there for them to sleep on. He loved to travel, sometimes protesting to his wife! The grandkids loved to go to breakfast with him whenever they got the chance. He was the person that stopped on the road to give assistance to weary travelers who didn't even know him.
They received lots of treats and enjoyed listening to Darwyn talk to them. They spent their winters in Yuma, AZ enjoying time with their Canadian friends and cousins. Darwyn spent 2 years in the army and was stationed in Germany. He then returned to Bowman and married Bette the love of his life on November 16, 1968. If you ask her the order of his loves were 1) Ford pickup 2)Dogs 3)John Deer and 4)his wife. He was the person who would always say hello to you no matter who you were.
